More info regarding our bird shoots:

We have the pigeon and dove shoots. On these hunts each hunter can expect to shoot hundreds every day. Typically a group of 5 to six hunters will shoot at least a thousand birds a day. Most common birds are rock pigeons, similar in size to European wood pigeons, and turtle doves.
We supply cartridges and a group of 6 can expect to shoot up to 22 000 on a trip.
The cartridges are selling in South Africa at about €6,50 for a box of 25.

Included in the price:
Pick up and drop off service from the airport. All accommodation and meals as well as travel during hunt.
The only extras are alcoholic drinks, cartridges and tips.
This price is only applicable for pigeons and doves.
We normally try to include at least one shoot on guinea fowl/francolin and duck/geese, if there are available in the area.
The hunting takes place on sunflower fields where there are thousands of pigeons and doves.

A hunt will be conducted as following:
Normally the clients arrive in the morning. From Johannesburg international airport it is about 3 hours drive to the pigeon and dove hunting area. Which is near Kroonstad and Welkom.
This means that the shooting can start after lunch if the flight arrived early enough.
The next day will be started with a walk in the fields for guinea fowl, then it is back to the sunflower fields for pigeons.

A brunch will be enjoyed around 12:00. This can be either in the field, but mostly we will return to the lodge where we stay so as to allow for an hour or two of resting.
This procedure is followed throughout, and we try and vary every day with the program.
Whilst hunting we have professional hunters with the clients and drinks are available throughout the hunting day.

Optimum time for hunting is from the end of February until the middle of June.
Best time, March, April and May.
Duck, geese, francolin and guinea fowl can be hunted from May onwards.
Typical is 5 hunting days with 6 nights. Though any combination of bird and trophy hunting can be made.
